As the new host of Canada’s longest running lifestyle show CityLine, Tracy Moore is known for her laid back style, easy laugh and love of fashion, fitness and all things shoe-related.
Born in Toronto and raised in Richmond Hill, Tracy worked her way up the media ladder to her current position as host of CityLine. Her professionalism, work ethic and engaging personality saw her advance from CTV Newsnet intern to CBC videographer, CBC Canada Now back-up and CBC Newsworld anchor. Her proudest work at CBC includes a documentary series on the working poor and a local series of reports on gun violence. Her sound reporting and news reading at CBC led to a reporter/anchor position on Toronto’s daily news magazine Toronto Tonight.
In the fall of 2005, Tracy joined Toronto’s number one morning show, City TV’s Breakfast Television as its live reporter. Within months she was backing up the show’s lead news anchor in addition to covering live breaking news events.
What followed was her most significant life change to date; the birth of her son Sidney in April 2008. Returning after maternity leave to a position like hosting CityLine was an incredible way to re-enter the work force!
Her work is not limited to her role on-air. Tracy has made a name for herself as a grassroots volunteer by initiating a speakers’ series in Toronto high schools, talking to students about non-violence and media literacy. She counts as one of her top priorities boosting the self-esteem of young girls. To this end, she emcees the “Girls On The Run” event every year. Most recently, Tracy decided CityLine should do more than just sponsor the Weekend To End Breast Cancer – they should walk it. And they did. Sixty kilometers in two days!
