Daryn Jones

If you’re looking for safe, predictable, middle-of-the-road comedy, Daryn Jones is not your guy. If you prefer intelligent and edgy humour, replete with a satirical view on current events and politics, then there’s no one better. A prolific comedian, Jones is guaranteed to be a hit as a stand-up act or emcee of your event.

Jones made a name for himself as the host and creative producer of MTV Live, a correspondent with CBC TV’s The Mercer Report, as creative producer, writer, and co-host on The Comedy Network’s Buzz (which won him a Gemini Award for his writing) and most recently as the host of CBC TV’s Over the Rainbow.

His other extensive television credits include a reporting role on CTV’s e-Talk, hosting and writing on YTV’s The Zone, and hosting the stand-up comedy show Laughing Matters on The Comedy Network. Jones was also a regular guest on Open Mike with Mike Bullard, and a featured performer at the 2000 Canadian Comedy Awards.

In radio, Jones hosted The Mad-Dog and Daryn Morning Show on Toronto’s KISS FM, and his own program, The Daryn Jones Show, also on KISS FM.

As a comedian, Jones has a lengthy list of stand-up credits that includes The Improv clubs in New York, London, and Los Angeles, Just for Laughs showcases, and opening for Tim Allen, Kevin Nealon, and Rick Overton, among others.
